Twende Trust Community School
History
The school was built on the farm of Ary van Liere (NL) and Susan Mumena (ZM). Susan was a teacher all her life and met Ary during a project in Chipembi where they volunteered at an agricultural school.
Ary had been in Zambia before and from the year 2000 on, through raising funds, he set up projects. "Stichting Zeeland voor Zambia" came alive.
They built the school on their farm in Chisamba. For operating the school, they have to be self-sufficient.
Mission
Our mission is firstly to provide basic education to as many children from around the farm as possible. Children who otherwise would not go to school because it is too far. Finally, it also wants to help teenage mothers who often had to interrupt their education back on track. For this, we want to launch some projects and gradually ensure that the school can move forward independently as much as possible. This in cooperation with the farm and the local community.
